We are seeking an exceptional IT leader, who combines strong technical skills with an acute business awareness, industry experience, and a proven ability to successfully deliver projects. This is an exciting hands-on role, managing all areas of IT throughout the company.
Leading a small IT team and part of a global team, you will apply the skills learned from your strong technical background to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems and data across the company’s various studios. From previous roles, ideally in the games industry, you will have strong knowledge and expertise supporting development and QA teams and the tools they use, and you will be well versed in understanding and applying IT security policies and controls to keep confidential data secure.
Your day-to-day focus will be on the efficient delivery of time-critical support services, administration of networks and systems, and the delivery of IT projects driven both by the business and within IT.
Reporting to the company’s CEO and the Group IT Director of our parent company, this role is based in Manila, and may require occasional travel to Europe.
Designing, building, and maintaining an evolving IT infrastructure and group of IT services; network & systems administration; maintaining availability SLAs
Administration of firewalls in line with Group IT and security standards and best practice
Along with your IT team, manage responsibility for the company’s Service Desk and the efficient and timely delivery of IT support services
Ensuring the smooth and timely set up of new QA and development projects; liaising with teams and clients regarding technical issues related to client tools and game engines
Management, mentoring, training, and recruitment of IT support staff
Responding to client security audit requests for information and supporting client audits
Development of local IT procedures and workflows including architecture, security, and disaster recovery
Working with the Group IT Director on the development of IT strategies, process improvements, and global policies
Problem Management: all problems are tracked, prioritized, and not considered solved until the affected business users consider them solved
Change Management: strict adherence to formal change management policies and processes
Negotiation and maintenance of vendor and consultant contracts and service agreements
Development and maintenance of service levels for all IT services provided to the business
Maintain a testable disaster recovery plan for all IT services
Maintain complete documentation of all services and systems
Responsible for IT procurement, and IT budget management
Games development and QA industry experience preferred; handling confidential data
5+ years prior IT management with focus on process improvement, best-practice, infrastructure management, service delivery and partnership with business leaders
Exposure in previous roles to security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, MPAA or other would be a strong advantage
Ability to understand the goals and strategy of both the business and IT, and to translate these into deliverables
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work to tight deadlines and within constraints
Organizational maturity: the ability to articulate ideas, manage constraints, resolve conflicts, and lead IT teams to accomplish business objectives
Team player – working effectively as part of local and global IT teams
Essential technical skills;
Solid understanding of current IT hardware; server, storage, PC, mobile devices
Supporting retail, test, and development kits for games
Operating Systems (Linux, Windows Server, Windows 10/11, OSX, iOS)
Supporting games industry-specific software and tools (Perforce, SVN, 3DS Max, Maya, Zbrush, Unity, Adobe Suite, etc.)
Server Virtualization (VMware; VCentre)
Firewall technologies
Understanding and applying networking principles, technologies and switching hardware
PC image deployment technologies
Scripting (Bash, PowerShell, etc.)
Backup systems – (LTO, B2D, Cloud). Veeam would be advantageous
Cloud services; GSuite, Office 365, Azure, AWS
The following certifications would be advantageous: ITIL, CCNA, Microsoft Certifications
